Rose L. Jones Obituary

Rose Lee Sturdivant Jones was born in Selma, Alabama on December 23, 1944, to the late Ella & Eli Sturdivant, Sr.

Rose moved to Pittsburgh when she was a young girl. She completed her education in the Pittsburgh Public School System.

Rose confessed her life to Christ at an early age.

Rose was a Resilient Woman, A Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt & Friend. Rose was a proud member of Daughters of the Elks – Bon Ami Temple #49, where she served as the Recorder. Rose was employed for over 20 years with Unger Jewelry Store Inc & worked her later years as a part-time caregiver for the Jewish home.

Rose’s favorite time of year was Christmas. She loved this holiday because this was a time to gather the people she loved most together.

Decorating her home with all the festive ornaments & trinkets. Music playing from dust to dawn, remembering one song that she would play " On the Ocean" by K' Jon. During this holiday season she celebrated & welcomed guests plenty times in her home. Rose wanted the interior to smell inviting to all those individuals with the savory & sweet smells.

On March 30, 2024, God said, " you are weary my child" so he did what he thought was best and stood beside you & whispered "come now and rest".

Rose was preceded in death by Leonard Jones (husband), Eli Jr. (brother), and Mary Francis Arrington (sister).

Rose leaves to mourn her loss, her children – Karen, Karie (Alice), Kevin (LaVersa), and Kurt (Eva); sister – Pearl; grandchildren – Lakesh, Paris (Timothy), Jerome Jr., and Tarelle (Brittany); great-grandchildren – Zayden, Zion, and Zhuri; adopted grandchildren – Keith and Anthony; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
