Buford Charlie Matney, 86, of Randleman, died Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.

Funeral Services, 3:00 PM, Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Pleasant Cross Christian Church, Asheboro.

Officiating, Rev. Jeff Maness.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Buford was born in Grundy, Virginia and was a longtime resident of Randleman. He was retired from Sapona and a member of Pleasant Cross Christian Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Vernie Vandike Matney, sisters, Hazel Looney, Helen Bowman, Thelma Ratliff, Ann Matney, Beulah Hess, and brothers, Roger, Ed, Junior and Ira Matney.

Survivors: wife, Linda Long Matney, of the home, daughter, Deborah M. Pupillo, of Baltimore, MD, sons, Danny Gerald Matney and wife, Patricia, Trevor Dean Matney, both of Randleman, step-son, Mark Porter, of Raleigh, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation, 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM, Thursday, Pleasant Cross Christian Church, Asheboro.
