Harold Lebowitz Obituary

Harold Lebowitz, longtime resident of Morristown, New Jersey, husband of Ruth and father of Ellen and Fran died at his home in Morristown Friday night at the age of 83. A veteran of World War II, Lebowitz was born in 1924 in Brooklyn, New York, the youngest of five siblings, to Adolph and Margaret Lebowitz. He attended Erasmus Hall High School, then moved with his family to Morristown where he graduated from Morristown High School in 1943. Immediately after graduation he enlisted in the Army, where he served until the end of the war. Upon his return from the war, he attended, then graduated from the Newark College of Fine and Industrial Arts. For many years, Lebowitz owned and operated Pearl's Upholstered Furniture, first in Morristown and then in Morris Plains. An active member of the Morris Plains Rotary Club, he was President of that from 1982-1983. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth Lebowitz of Morristown and his daughters Ellen Lebowitz of Morristown and Fran Lebowitz of New York City.
