Karen Williams Berry Obituary

Karen Williams Berry passed away at the age of 82 on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Legacy of Franklin Nursing Center.

Karen was the eldest of three children born to the union of A.E. and Wanda Williams. She was a longtime teacher in St. Mary Parish specifically 3rd grade at Bayou Vista Elementary and 4th grade at Patterson Junior High. She retired from teaching in 1996. Karen was an avid reader and was a longtime member of Bayou Vista Baptist Church.

Those she leaves to cherish her memory include her four children, Mark Berry and his wife Dana, Michael Berry and his wife Rachel, Michelle B. Landry and her husband John T. Landry, and Matthew Berry; 20 grandchildren, Christopher Carter Berry and wife Leah, Caleb Mark Berry and wife Emily, Corey Michael Berry and wife Caroline, Clay Michael Berry and wife Casey, Courtney Magen Berry, Carter Michael Berry and wife Haley, Catherine Micole Lanclos and husband Jordan, Cole Michael Berry and wife Kelsey, Joshua-Caleb Michael Berry and wife Emily, Justin Paige Blanc, Kevin Mark Berry and wife Anna, Kristin Elaine Landry, Jackson Irvin Landry and wife Julia, Hunter James Landry, Fabien John Blanc and wife Tyffani, Craig Phillip Blanc and wife Ricca, Daniel Ryan Blanc and wife Rhonda, Isaiah Thomas Berry, Isabelle Rose Berry, and Gabriel Ryan Berry; 28 great grandchildren; Lailah, Chance (Tupper), Ryann, Camilla, Gunner, Ryker, Everett, Tucker, Olivia, Pavali, Leilana, Isabella, Elijah, Bethany, Brielle, Sawyer, Eden, Vivian, Joseph, Amberle, Adalya, Craig, Evalyn, Angela, Dilon, Logan, Jaden, and Kalyn; one brother, Dennis Williams; one sister, Jan Brannon; one brother-in-law, Robert Berry and wife Shielda; one sister-in-law, Dora B. Daniels and husband James; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Those who preceded her in death include her husband, Ralph Carter (R.C.) Berry; her parents, A.E. Williams and Wanda Ruth Shepherd Williams; her in-laws, H.O. Berry and Loraine Davis Berry; brother-in-law, Arlie Brannon; and sister-in-law, Cissy Williams.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 1, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Bayou Vista Baptist Church with Rev. Steven Kelly officiating the service. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 9:00 AM.

Following the services she will laid to rest in Ibert's Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Bayou Vista Baptist Church, 411 Field Street, Morgan City, LA 70380.
