Known as Bob, Mr. Lehman made his home in Joplin for over five decades, having been born December 7, 1938 in Fairbury, NE. He was the firstborn son of the late Dana and Hazel Lehman. Bob grew up on a large successful dairy farm in Iowa and later moved to the Lake of the Ozarks area where his family owned and operated a business. Bob graduated from Camdenton High School and moved to KC where he graduated from Cosmetology School. He subsequently moved to put in his own salon in Tipton, MO. Bob was an insurance agent for American National and upon retirement, went to work as a Funeral Attendant for Parker Mortuary for the last fifteen plus years before fully retiring. His love of helping others was a well-known trait. Compassion and caring for others was a part of Bob's everyday life in all aspects of life. He truly loved people! He loved his time helping people whether working through insurance issues or helping individuals/families in their time of loss. Bob had a servant's heart and was often asked if he was a pastor. Although he did not serve as a pastor, Mr. Lehman was a strong Christian who faithfully served the Lord in various capacities in local Southern Baptist churches, Upward Bound, and Gideons International. Emmanuel Baptist Church, Webb City was Bob's church home. Trout fishing in various locations across Missouri was one of the many pleasures Bob enjoyed. He also loved Southern Gospel and classical music. Attending his local grandson’s Jazz Band, Marching Band, and piano recitals gave Bob immense joy. Were he able to attend his Texas grandkids activities, he would have gladly done so! A fierce love for his kids and grands was evident as Bob often included them in conversations with others.

Bob never missed an opportunity to invite someone, even a newly made acquaintance, to church. He never met a stranger and was very well known in Jasper County. His Christian influence and jovial spirit will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara in 2008 and his daughter, Linda in 1979.
