Lois H. Cerra Obituary

Lois Cerra, a woman whose laughter was as infectious as her spirit, danced her way to Heaven on March 27, 2024. Born on January 27, 1936, in Homestead, Lois was the kind of person who turned every room she entered into a brighter, more joyful place. She peacefully passed away surrounded by her devoted and loving family in her home.

Lois, a Homestead High School alumna, spent many years as the life of the party. Lois was a ten-pin titan in leagues like the Busy Bees and High Rolling Alley Cats. When she wasn't hitting up the lanes, Lois was probably trying to hit the jackpot at the casino with her sister from a different mister, Margie, or leading the pack in the Monthly Family Girls' Day with all the ladies. She also enjoyed cheering on the Buccos, the Steelers, and loved dancing to the Oldies. Lois was always ready to throw down a mean jitterbug, proving time and again that age was just a number, and rhythm is eternal.

A devoted mother to Carmen (Debbie), Stacy, and Dina (Reggie), Lois was the matriarch and the glue holding her family close. Her grandchildren—Toni (Kyle), Laura, Casey (Bryan), Adam, Dakota, and Delaney—knew that a visit to Nanny's house meant funny stories, laughter, and endless hours of the Game Show Network and TV Land. Great-grandchildren Dominic, Nora Jean, Ryan, and Patrick will grow up with tales of their Nanny's shenanigans that will surely become family legend.

Lois was preceded in passing by her husband, Dominic Cerra, who is probably now getting an earful for leaving the party early, and her late parents, Albert and Mary Hvozodvich; and her late brother and partner in-crime, Albert Hvozdovich.

Lois's life was a testament of fun and a daily reminder that the world could use a little more laughter... and a little more Moscato. Her absence will be felt deeply, but the memories of her escapades will live on in our hearts forever.

So, let's raise a glass (or a bowling ball, if that's more your style) to the incomparable Lois Cerra—a woman who lived, laughed, and loved with the kind of gusto that most people can only aspire to. Here's to the high rolls, the lucky strikes, and the dance moves that only she could pull off. Lois, you were one of a kind, and we are all the better for the legacy you've left behind.
