Waldo Eugene Gilbert Obituary

Waldo Eugene Gilbert, 93, of Fort Smith passed away on Sunday March 24, 2024 in a local hospital. He was born April 5, 1929 in Leveland, TX to William and Wanda (Caddell) Gilbert. He was the founder and operator of Guard Tronics, a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Jenny Lind and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Waldo was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Christine Gilbert, his parents and a daughter, Nikki Miller.


He is survived by three daughters, Gwen Seamens of Fort Smith, Paula Clegg of Tulsa, OK and Donna Carter of Natural Dam; one sister, Nelda Harris of Odessa, TX; three brothers, Jack Gilbert (Linda) of Van Buren, Vernon Gilbert (Shirley) of Midland, TX and Frank Gilbert (Sharon) of Tull, AR; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.


Graveside memorial service will be 2:00 PM Friday March 29, 2024 at U.S. National Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
