D. Denise (Hallam) Melani, known affectionately as Denise to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2024, at the age of 58 in her home in South Park surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Ronald Melani, to whom she was married for 36 years. Denise's life was characterized by the pride she had for her daughters and the love she had for her dogs.
Denise's interests were a mirror of her loving nature. She cherished the time spent with her family and friends, creating memories that they will hold dear for a lifetime. Her dogs were a source of immense joy and companionship. Denise was also never one to say no to any adventure.
Denise's personal and professional journey was marked by her meticulous nature and her commitment to excellence. Her friends and family respected her for her expertise and her ability to bring warmth and understanding to the complexities of life. She was known for her willingness to lend a helping hand and her attention to detail.
Those who knew Denise will remember her as a feisty, loving, and kind soul, whose presence was of comfort and joy. Her generous spirit and her unwavering positivity have left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Denise's legacy is one of love, perfection, kindness, and pride that she carried throughout her life.
In addition to her husband, Ronald Melani, Denise is survived by her two daughters, Noelle Melani (Justin Smith), and Tiffany Melani; a granddaughter, Avery Denise Smith; her mother, Sondra (Staskey) Hallam; three sisters, Heidi Roell, Cortney O’Connor (John), and Robin Trieschock (John); and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, L. Lawton Hallam, Denise is preceded in death by a sister, Kim Sienerth.
Visitations will be 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA. A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery.
