Mrs. Karby Lane Locklear of Rowland NC, was born in Robeson County on Monday, December 6th, 1943 to the late Luther and Retha Mae Jacobs. She was born into eternity on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024, completing her journey of 80 years.
In addition to her parents she was proceeded in death by her husband of 51 years Thurman (Dank) Locklear; son: baby Locklear; daughter: Doris Oxendine; brother: Vardell (Purcell) Jacobs; sisters: Rachel Jacobs, Edith Jacobs, Betty Locklear and Letha Harris; granddaughters: Tina Oxendine and Jessica Chavis; grandsons: Kerwin Chavis and Kendrick (Pookie) Locklear. She loved working in her vegetable garden, cooking and spending time with her family. She was a member of Shoeheel Holiness Methodist Church for 52 years.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Robbie Locklear of the home, Cindy Chavis (Wayne), Michael Locklear (Mary), Martha Barton(David) and Rev Johnny Locklear (Shannon) all of Maxton; grandchildren: Ashley Oxendine, Brooke (Kerwin), Michael Locklear Jr. (Pa), Makayla Harris (Jacoby), Magan Hunt (Jamie), Katelin Locklear and Daylon Barton; great-grandchildren: Sequoria Hunt, Shaunia Hunt, David Hunt, Logan Harris, Dawson Chavis, Brayden Chavis, Gracelyn Harris and Oaklyn Barton; sister: Annie Oxendine, as well as special friends: RL and Cricket Oxendine, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Shoeheel Holiness Methodist Church in Maxton, with the Revs. Dwayne Lowry, Dwight Deal and Hedrick Jones. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM (one-hour prior the service) Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Shoeheel Holiness Methodist Church in Maxton.
