Doris Lynell Wooderson, age 88 of Jackson, Tennessee passed away on March 15, 2024 in Henderson, Tennessee.


Lynell was born on October 17, 1935 in Houston, Texas to the late Aubrey and Eva Radney McCollum. Lynell will always be remembered for her faithful service as a pastor's wife. She and her husband, Doug, served churches in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri. Being a pastor's wife was not a duty but was a true calling upon her life. Ministering to others was her greatest joy.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Douglas Wooderson; her son, Paul Douglas Wooderson; and siblings, Dorothy Mae Whearley, Eva Jean McCollum, Aubrey Earnest McCollum and Margaret Woychesin.


She is survived by her daughter, Terri Wooderson Gardner (Curtis); daughter in law, Alicia Wooderson; grandchildren, Shannon Gardner Crane (Zack), Drew Gardner, Alexis Wooderson, and Marcos Wooderson; great grandchildren, Clara Crane, Caroline Crane and Benjamin Crane; sister in law, Anita McCollum; and brother in law, Mike Woychesin.


The funeral service is to be conducted on Friday, March 22, 2023 at 11 A.M. at Meridian Baptist Church, Jackson, Tennessee under the direction of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Jackson, Tennessee.  A graveside and committal service will take place 1 P.M., Monday, March 25, 2024 at Park Cemetery, Madisonville, Texas.
