Minerva Amanda Elsie Schulz Bauer passed away at home at the age of 101 on March 13, 2024.
Minerva was born at home on June 12, 1922 in Colby. She graduated from Colby High School and then went on to comptometer school in Milwaukee. Minerva worked at Square D, Milwaukee as a bookkeeper until her marriage to Maynard Bauer in 1945. She ended her career as a bookkeeper/bank teller at Nicolet Bank in Colby.
Minerva was baptized, confirmed and married at Zion Lutheran Church. As an active member of Zion, she sang in the choir, served on altar guild and counted money for many years. She taught piano lessons for 55 years. Minerva loved reading, playing piano, playing pinnacle, camping and fishing.
Minerva is survived by her five children: Sydney Bauer (Pat Klimpke), Dale (Gina) Bauer, Marilyn (Steve) Carlson, Shelba Schilling and Kirk Bauer; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother, Kenneth (Marlene) Schulz; her sister, Lucille (David) Brecker; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Ernst and Elsie; her loving husband, Maynard; four brothers: Allen Schulz, Julius (Ellen) Schulz, Donald (Ginger) Schulz and Calvin (Arlene) Schulz; two sisters: Grace (Don) Casanova and Elaine (Vernon) Boss.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. Visitation will be 10:00 am- 11:00 am with Service following.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church Alter Guild.
