John Moore Anderson, Sr., a cherished member of the Bedias Community for over three decades, passed away on March 4, 2024, in College Station, Texas at the age of eighty-three years. He was born on September 17, 1940, in Houston, Texas to Lewis Edward & Norma Lucille (Kneisler) Anderson.


John spent his life dedicated to his work as a Structural Iron Worker, a profession he pursued with immense pride. A proud member of the Iron Worker's Union #84, John devoted his skills to building essential structures in Houston while nurturing a deep connection to his craft. His commitment to his work was unwavering, and his contribution to the industry immeasurable.


In his leisure, John found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether cruising on his motorcycle or navigating the waters on a boat, he embraced the thrill of the open road and expanses of water. In his younger years, he pursued his passion for the outdoors through duck and deer hunting, a pastime that brought him closer to nature and created cherished memories.


As a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Bedias, Texas, John found solace and community in his faith, establishing lasting bonds with those around him. His warm smile and kind heart left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. John's membership as a Mason for many years held great importance to him, as well.


John was preceded in death by both of his parents; wife, Janean (Turner) Anderson; grandson, John O'dell Anderson; brothers, Lewis, Bill and Donald Anderson and sister, Margaret Ann Brown.


John is survived by his son, John Anderson, Jr. (Joyce) of Bedias; daughters, Carolina Anderson of Washington and Pamela Anderson of Florida; brothers, David Anderson of New Caney and Larry Anderson of Wadsworth; sister, Dee Creel of Dallas/Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Jeni, Robert, Misty, Preston and Devin; and several great-grandchildren, who all undoubtedly, carry on John's legacy with pride and love.


A funeral service to honor John Moore Anderson, Sr. will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 10 A.M. in Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. A visitation will take place on Monday, March 11, 2024, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. John will be laid to rest next to his wife in Bedias Methodist Cemetery, Bedias, Texas. These ceremonies will offer an opportunity to reminisce, celebrate, and pay tribute to a life well-lived.


In honoring John's memory, we reflect on the joy he brought, the hard work he dedicated, and the legacy he leaves behind. John Moore Anderson, Sr. will forever be remembered for his unwavering spirit, enduring presence, and the love he shared with all. May his soul find peace as we gather to celebrate his remarkable life.
