Grace Livingston Miller Obituary

Grace Livingston Miller, 24, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and West Hartford, Connecticut, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, March 1, 2024. She was born on April 1, 1999, at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, joining what was to become a large, tight-knit family of four girls (known to many as “the Miller Girls”).

Grace was a shining light onto everyone she ever met, and she will be remembered for her enthusiasm, her selfless devotion to her friends and family, her beautiful smile, and her big, bright blue eyes. Grace attended Watkinson School and Kingswood Oxford School, where she graduated in 2017. She attended college at High Point University, earning a degree in marketing and video production. While at High Point, she joined the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, where she was lovingly referred to as “Mama Nut.”

After graduation, Grace proudly worked as a senior content producer for Cents, an investment research startup based in Miami. Later, embracing her passion for boating, she worked in sales for Sunreef Yachts in Fort Lauderdale.

Grace loved the ocean and, having spent all of her summers at Groton Long Point, Connecticut, became an avid boater, swimmer and paddle boarder. She loved GLP and was an active member of the GLP Yacht Club, where she taught tennis and made many lifelong friends.

Above all else, Grace was a selfless and giving friend, often driving great distances and devoting countless hours to help those she cared about—and there were many. She loved spending time with her friends and family, bringing joy, laughter and fun into their lives.

Grace is survived by her loving parents, Garold C. Miller and Katharine S. Miller of West Hartford; her sisters, Haven Miller, Lila Miller and Charlotte Miller; her grandparents, Robert R. Carson and Serena Carson of Hilton Head Island; her grandmother, Patricia Hale, of West Hartford; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 8, from 4:00-7:00 pm at The Ahern Funeral Home, 180 Farmington Ave, Hartford. A service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 9, at First Church of West Hartford, 12 South Main Street, West Hartford. All are kindly asked to meet directly at church.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Amazing Grace Foundation, c/o Sullivan & Worcester LLP, One Post Office Sq, Floor 13, Boston, MA 02109.
