Margaret Mary Buesser, 89, passed away on March 4, 2024.

Born in Paterson and raised in Paterson, Margaret was the daughter of Henry and Margaret Crist. It was in Paterson that she formed an enduring friendship with Cathy Hastie, who would later introduce her to the love of her life, Robert. Their union blossomed into a beautiful marriage, and together they built a life in Bergenfield and later Washington Twp.

Before starting her family, Margaret worked for the telephone company. She later became a dedicated homemaker and her love and care for her family knew no bounds. Margaret found immense joy in spending time with her loved ones. She had the gift of making everyone in her life feel special and cared for, never missing the opportunity to celebrate a birthday or achievement. Summers held a special place in Margaret's heart which she spent with her family at their house on Chadwick Beach Island.

Margaret is survived by her children, Gary and his wife Monica, Ronnie and his wife, Lois, and Carolyn Blacknell and her husband, Bill; her grandchildren, Robert, Chris, Kimberly, Claire, Colin, Stephanie, Dylan, and Paige. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; her son, Jimmy; her grandson, Eric; her brothers, Joseph and Harold; her nephew, Joe and niece, Marianne. Also surviving are her brothers' children, Lorraine, Richard, Mary Rose and Marjorie.

Visiting hours are 5-7 pm on Friday, 3/8 and 9-10:30a on Saturday at Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral service will conclude the visitation at 10:30 on Saturday. Burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Airmont, NY.
