Malcolm “Mac” G. Fobare, age 89 , of Vero Beach, Florida, died Sunday February 11, 2024 at the Indian River Hospital.


Mac was born in Saranac Lake, New York on October 7, 1934, the son of Leo and Laura Fobare.


Mac graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1952 and in 1953 he married Lorraine (Peppy) LaFountain.


Mac was employed in the family business Fobare & Sons, Inc. Plumbing, Heating and Bottled Gas. He was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Union #773. Mac was an avid hunter and a Charter member of the Roger Brook Hunting Club.


Mac was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Peppy, a daughter, Pamela (Dennis) Bristol of Vero Beach, Florida, two sons, Tod (Shelagh) of Dallas, Texas and Ty (Terri) of Franklin, Tennessee, a sister, Paula (Jerry) Cheney of Saranac Lake, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Beverly Fobare of (Batavia) and many nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his father and mother Leo and Laura (Ashline) Fobare, a son, Mac Joseph Fobare, three brothers Chester Fobare, Linus Fobare, Jerry Fobare and a sister-in-law Dorothy Fobare.


Family and friends wishing to remember Mac can make donations to St. Bernard’s School.


There will be a mass of Christian burial in the summer with burial following in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
