John F. Moran (Jack), 91, passed away on February 26, 2024.
Born in Carbondale, PA, Jack was the son of James Moran and Blanche (Brennan) Moran. He was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School in Carbondale, PA, Class of 1951. He then proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. As a member of the American Legion Post 450 for over 50 years, Jack continued to honor his commitment to service throughout his life.
He married Jane Cerminaro in 1959 and the couple settled in Pequannock to raise their family. Jack worked for Hoffman LaRoche in Nutley, NJ as a chemical supervisor for 25 years before retiring in 1988. Jack had a deep-rooted pride in his Irish heritage and a passion for football and golf. Annual trips to Wildwood Crest with his beloved family created so many memories filled with laughter and love. His dachshunds were not just pets but cherished companions who brought him comfort and joy.
Jack is survived by his daughters, Ann Grabkowski (James) and Jean Messineo (Michael); his grandchildren, Gina Cadwell (Mike), Tyler Grabkowski, and Brandon Grabkowski; a Great-grandchild, Callie; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Wife, Jane Moran; his daughter, Donna Jacobsen; brothers James and Thomas; and his sisters, Jane and Honey.
Visiting hours will be held from 1-5 PM on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Scanlan Funeral Home, 781 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Pompton Plains, NJ 07444. Inurnment will take place 11 AM Monday, March 4, 2024 at the First Reformed Church Cemetery, where Military Funeral Honors will be presented.
