Born on April 13, 1957, in Charles City, Iowa, Dave was a cherished son, brother, and uncle who lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and a love for the simple pleasures.

Dave grew up in a lively household with his loving parents, James and Edith (Smith) Korinke, and was a protective and fun-loving sibling to Sandra, James, William, and Patrick. His childhood in Iowa was filled with fond memories and the foundational values of family and service that he carried with him throughout his life.

A proud graduate of Nashua High School, Dave's commitment to his country was evident early on as he embarked on a distinguished 18-year career in the US Navy. His expertise as an optical landing systems maintenance technician was crucial to naval operations, and his subsequent work as a closed-circuit tv tech for another nine years showcased his technical acumen and steadfast work ethic. Dave was respected by his colleagues for his professionalism and was known as someone who could always be relied upon.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dave was a man of many interests and talents. A sports enthusiast, he cheered with passion for his favorite teams, with a particular fondness for golf and the Washington Nationals. His love for music and photography reflected his artistic side, capturing the beauty of the world around him and the rhythms that moved him.

One of Dave's most endearing qualities was his love for animals, especially dogs. He was involved in animal rescue, and his three dogs were not just pets but members of his family. His compassionate spirit extended to all living creatures, and his efforts made a lasting impact on the lives he touched.

In the kitchen, Dave was a culinary artist, much like his beloved mother, Edith. His talent for cooking was a source of joy for him and a treat for those who had the privilege of tasting his dishes. Family gatherings were a highlight, as Dave and his two talented nieces would ensure that no one ever left hungry, and everyone left with a smile.

Dave's legacy is one of love, laughter, and generosity. His presence was a comfort and his laughter contagious. He lived his life fully, with a heart open to giving and a spirit that uplifted those around him. Those who knew Dave will remember him for his kind soul, his unwavering integrity, and the warmth of his company.

As we say goodbye to Dave, we celebrate a life well-lived and the countless memories he has left behind. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.

David is survived by his sister Sandra (Jim) Lawrenz of Rockford, Ia; brother Jim (Karen) Korinke of Overland Park, KS; nephew-in-law Roni (Kerrie) Wyborny of Rudd, Iowa; niece Kelly (Lee) Whipple of Waseca, MN; niece Kristin Lawrenz of Waseca, MN; great nieces & nephews: David, Matthew, Katie (Jon), Taylor, Sadie (Jace), Patrick, and Adam; and great-great nieces & nephews: Charlie, Quinn, Navy, Miles, Blayke, and Cooper.
