Iva Jean Yount Duncan joined her loving husband Rayford to be with their Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Frye Regional Medical Center while under the care of Catawba Regional Hospice. Iva was born March 8, 1932 and was the oldest of two siblings born to the late Carl and Edna Yount. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, Rayford Duncan, who passed away just four days prior to her passing, and her brother, Carl Dean Yount. Iva and Rayford were members of Christ Lutheran Church where Iva served as a Stephens minister. Besides being a loving wife and mother, she was a dental assistant for 26 years and worked for 2 area florists before retiring. Iva had a wonderful presence and was adored by everyone who met her. Left to cherish her loving memory is her daughter, Teresa Duncan (Tara Diamond) of Del Mar, CA; three sons, Richard Duncan and his significant other Debbie Johnson of Bethlehem, Randy Duncan of Hickory, and Ronald Duncan and wife Melissa of Hickory; one grandson; two great grandchildren; one great granddaughter. Services for Rayford and Iva will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Schwandt officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour prior to services at the church from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.
