Kathy Loretta Gibbs

It's with great sadness to announce Kathy's passing. She fought against cancer for the last year, never giving up. It may have ravaged her body, but it could never touch her mind and spirit. She has now been released of all her suffering. She was born and raised in Lompoc, graduating in 1970. She then went to work for Thrifty-Riteaid Drug for thirty years. Upon retirement, she was able to help her elderly parents until their passing. We were able to go camping at the beach and lakes, she especially loved to take our dogs to the beach and Waller Dog Park where we made many friends. She loved the sun and to work in our gardens. She leaves behind her husband Mike, who always adored her. Son Matt (Kristina), grandsons Karter, Jameson, Reid, Keenan. Brother Tom Dutra, sister Sandi Dutra, In laws Charles & Donna Gibbs, & Mark & Theresa Gibbs. Godmother Angie Nordell (Wayne), uncles Jim and Jack and their wives Carrol & Judy and SO many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Gerrald and Lorraine Dutra, her dogs Zeke, Sammi, Freddi, Sunny, who are wagging their tails, waiting for her in heaven. Upon her request there will be no services. A donation to Mission Hope Cancer Center would go a long way to finally ending this dreadful disease.
