It is with sadness that the family of Doreen M. deBos, wife of the late Frederick deBos, wish to announce her passing which occurred on February 9, 2024.  Born, January 19, 1932, in Saint John, NB, to the late Peter and Adelina (Babineau) Allain.

Doreen had a wonderful life with her loving husband Frederick.  One of her favorite memories was the trip to the Amazon jungle and the excursions throughout Brazil. They often travelled to Frederick’s homeland of Holland. Her nephew Peter surprised her with a cruise, and she loved that special time with her sister-in-law Johanna and her daughter Lynn.

She is survived by her daughter Lynn Caputo, her grandchildren; Matthew Marchese, Brandon (Whitney) Marchese, and Amanda Uchiha, great-grandchildren; Greyson, Olivia, Kian, and Hudson, along with her nephews, Peter (Linda) Purcell, Robert Purcell, Eric (Sue) Allain, and nieces Edwina McMaster and Denise (Todd) Hovey.

She had many cherished friends during her life including Lloyd and Germaine Smith and Betty Muir.  During the last 4 years at the Chateau Champlain, she developed many special friendships with her neighbours and staff whom she really enjoyed.

Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son Mark, son-in-law Chuck Caputo, brothers; Edgar (Maria), Norman, and Clarence, her dear friend of 76 years Dottie Claussen and her beloved grand baby Munchkin.

She will always be remembered as a loving wife and mother who held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  The family would like to thank the staff at Chateau Champlain for the special care they always offered Doreen and her family along with a special thanks to Norman Brien and all those who helped.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506) 646-2424.  Following cremation, interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.  Remembrances made to Bobby's Hospice, or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
