Todd M. Sweet, 51, of Hanna City passed away on Monday April 17, 2023 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. He was born on May 21, 1971 in Peoria, Illinois. Todd married Nacole Motteler on September 26, 2009. She survives. Todd was a graduate of Richwoods High School Class of 1988. Todd was employed by Evonik Chemical Plant as a Chemical Operator. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle and having fun with friends and family. He especially loved the time he spent being Papa to his grandchildren. Todd is survived by his wife Nacole Sweet-Motteler of Hanna City, Illinois; mother Angela (John) Christian of Mountain Grove, Missouri, father Harry L. (Mourina) Sweet Jr. of Bartonville, Illinois; maternal grandmother Juanita Lanier of Galesburg, Illinois; daughter and son-in-law Shelbie Moore and Cody Davis of Trivoli, Illinois; grandchildren Brentley and Alivia; brother Troy M. (Celeste) Sweet of North Canton, Ohio; step-sisters Kim Krusemark of Bartonville, Illinois, Stacy (John) Morrell of Erie, Illinois as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Todd was preceded in death by his son Spencer Strickler, his beloved maternal grandfather George Lanier and paternal grandparents Anna Mae and Harry Sweet Sr. A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday April 25, 2023 at Smithville Cemetery in Hanna City, Illinois starting at 1:00pm.
