Alice Crain Obituary

Alice V. Crain, 72, of Peoria, arrived home at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Alice was born on October 5, 1933 in West Frankfort, IL, daughter of Andrew and Clara Rendleman Young. She married George F. Crain on September 21, 1951. He survives. She is also survived by three sons, George S. “Steve” Crain of Fullerton, CA , the Rev. James D. Crain of Dongguan, Guangdong, China and Mark Sumner of Milwaukee, WI; six grandchildren, Billie May and Darrick, Jimmy, Joy, Pebbles and Michelle Crain; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Frank of Largo, FL, five brothers, Ray, Alvin, Herman, Dean and Mac all of the Peoria area; and two sisters, Ann Simms and Eula Johnson, both of the Peoria area. Her parents, one brother, one sister and one great grandson, Johnathan S. Crain, preceded her in death. Alice retired from the State of Illinois as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was employed at Galesburg Research Hospital, Peoria State Hospital and Zellar Mental Health Center. She attended Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church in Peoria. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, with Pastor Jim Knight and her son, the Rev. James D. Crain officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will be held at Mt. Hawley Cemetery in Peoria. Memorial contributions may be made to The Bamboo Harvest in care of Calvary Temple Assembly of God. Arrangements are entrusted to Clary Funeral Consultants in Peoria.
