Dorothy I. Taylor, 64, of Peoria, passed away at 10:42 a.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2008, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Dorothy was born on December 31, 1943, a daughter of William Earl and Elanora May White Taylor. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Lou Anna) Cookson and David A. Cookson of Peoria; daughter, Dixie Lynn Taylor-Ciesynski of Wahpeton, ND; sisters, Thelma Jean Short of Glasford and Dixie (Don) Henderson of Moline; brothers, Arlen “Pete” Taylor of Springfield, John (Jean) Taylor of Canton and Jimmie L. (Mary) Taylor of Bloomington; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William Dean Taylor. Dorothy was a homemaker and attended church services at the Salvation Army of Peoria. She collected teddy bears and enjoyed Country music, with the Statler Brothers being her favorite. A visitationwas held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2008, at Clary Funeral Consultants in Peoria. Cremation rites will be accorded, following the visitation. Interment of the cremated remains will be held at Kingston Mines Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army of Peoria.
