<p>Betty Cooney, age 90, passed away at her daughter’s home in Lake Orion, Michigan on Monday, February 12, 2024, under the loving guidance of Michigan Palliative &amp; Hospice Care. She was born on St. Valentine’s Day in Detroit on February 14, 1933, to the late John and Grace Shall. Betty graduated from Busch High School in Center Line and later worked in the automotive industry as a Typist for Holley Carburetor and Chrysler’s Plymouth plant.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p><br></p><p>Beloved Wife of the late Edward (2019), they met in 1954 at a square dance at the USO, Center Line, and were married at St. Clement Catholic Church on February 23, 1968. They were together for over 65 years. Loving Mother of Debbie (Daniel) Woelmer. Cherished Grandmother of Brandon, Justin and Lauren. Dear Sister of the late Marjorie Lewis, Dorothy Brummitt and Edna Sidilau, and loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p><br></p><p>Betty enjoyed square dances, ice skating, and camping in her early years. She also enjoyed playing card games, especially Pinochle and Rummy, doing Sudoku puzzles, putting together jigsaw puzzles, but most importantly spending time with family, especially her grandkids.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p><br></p><p>Visitation Friday, February 16, 2024 from 2-8 pm at Ford Funeral Home, 26250 Van Dyke (South of 11 Mile Road or the I-696 expressway), Center Line, Michigan. Instate Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 10:30 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11 am at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 2700 Waldon, Lake Orion, Michigan, with Fr. William Promesso presiding, Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit, Michigan.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or THAW (The Heat and Warmth fund), in her memory.</p>
