Marlene Clements Obituary

Marlene Clements, 90, of Bellevue, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at her daughter's home in Elmore, OH.  
  
Marlene was born on September 11, 1933 in Fremont, OH to the late Walter J. and Laura (Rieman) Rock. She graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1951. She worked as credit manage at Sears Roebuck and Co. until she married Thomas Clements in Bellevue, OH in 1957 and they moved to Cleveland, OH where she worked for Allstate Insurance Co. After living in Cleveland two years, Marlene and Thomas moved back to Bellevue to  raise their family. While raising the family, she served as Sunday School secretary at St. John's Lutheran Church, Stanley and Avon representative, Bellevue Welcome Wagon Hostess, Bellevue Hospital Gift Shop manager, and  served as the Jaycees Wives Charter President.  Marlene returned to the business world with Kelly Services until she took a permanent position with Stein Associates in Sandusky until her retirement in 1997. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Bellevue and the Bellevue Historical Society.

Marlene is survived by three sons, Wade (Rae), Mark (Tina) both of Bellevue and Jeffrey (Michelle) of Petersburg, MI; daughter, Marcy (Scott) Belcher of Elmore; grandchildren, Gina (William) Ruffing, Angela (James Kessler) Alan, Erin, Destiny, Aleah Clements, Ashley (Chris) Folger, Brittany (Edward) Schaefer, Shane (Shay) Benfer, and Dustin (Jenna) Belcher; 17 great grandchildren; and six nieces. In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Clements; brother, Walter F Rock; sister, Julia Gibson and twin grandchildren, Danny and Danielle Benfer in infancy.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St (SR 269) Bellevue, Ohio. The funeral will be on Friday, February 16, 2024, 10:30 am at the funeral home, with Rev. Beth Westphal officiating. Burial will follow in the Bellevue City Cemetery.
