Helen Maraldi Obituary

Helen Maraldi, 83, of Woodstock, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Ukraine on February 11, 1941 to Mykola & Maria lhnat iuk. She married Leslie 'Les' Maraldi in August of 1960. She grew up in Chicago as was a long time resident of Woodstock, Illinois. She and her husband, Les, built their home in 1978 and filled it with memories shared by many. There were many big holiday meals where she cooked a spread for dozens & summer pool parties under yellow fringed patio umbrellas. She was a lover of music, theater and gardening. She saw Elvis in concert and brushed shoulders with Mister Rogers. Helen's love of family and zest for life left an impression for all who met her. Everyone was welcome and was touched by her generosity and kindness. When you told Helen, 'I love you' she would respond with 'I love your more.'.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband & brother Anatoli lhnatiuk. She is survived by her children John (Nicole) Joyce, Patricia (Edward) McNamara and Andrew (Donna) Ginocchio; her brothers Stephen lhnatiuk, Walter lhnatiuk, Michael (Norma) lhnatiuk and Larry lhnatiuk, sister Lucille Smentek, grandson Gavin Joyce and many nieces and nephews.
