Ernest Elwood Hall, Jr. Obituary

Ernest Elwood Hall, Jr., "Pete," 90, of Glen Allen, peacefully went Home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 10, 2024. He is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Jean T. Hall; son, Thomas E. Hall (Sally); daughter, Terry H. Blackwell (Kevin); six grandchildren, Brittany H. Burns (Kyle), Matthew T. Hall (Jaclyn), Timothy E. Hall (Molly), Mackenzie B. Gordon, (Andy), Kelly D. Blackwell and Karly H. Blackwell; and seven great grandchildren, Betsy, Jack, Katie and Maggie Burns; Matalyn and Joshua Hall; and Ellie Gordon. Pete lived a very fulfilled life. He began his career in the military, in the Army National Guard. After being drafted and serving in the Korean War, he returned to a full-time position with the National Guard in the United States Property and Fiscal office. He retired after 33 years as a "full-bird colonel," where he then began his successful real estate career. Pete was a faithful member of Hunton Baptist Church for 58 years, serving as a Sunday School teacher, Deacon, Treasurer and Trustee. Together, Jean and Pete have been very active in their Hunton community. Additionally, they have enjoyed many fun-filled summers with their family in Dunnsville, VA at Gran's View. An avid outdoorsman, he was also a lifelong member of Waterloo Hunt Club in Fluvanna County. Pete was a Godly man who loved our country. He will be missed immeasurably; however, we have great comfort and peace knowing he is with Jesus. Visitation will take place at Hunton Baptist Church, 11660 Greenwood Rd, Glen Allen, VA 23059, on Thursday, February 15, from 6:00-8:00 PM. A celebration of Pete's wonderful life will be held on Friday, February 16, also at Hunton Baptist Church, at 11:00 AM with visitation starting one hour prior. Burial will be at 2:00 PM at Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Rd, Hanover, VA 23069. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hunton Baptist Church.
