Norma Jean Longmire Hill, 93, of Gibson City peacefully passed away at 9:54 pm Friday January 5, 2024 at the Gibson Area Hospital-Annex. A Celebration of Jeans life will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday January 17, 2024 at Rosenbaum Funeral Home in Gibson City. Memorial Contributions may be made to ASPCA or The Gibson Area Hospital Auxiliary to be used for the Annex Garden.
Jean was born March 14, 1930 in rural Sibley a daughter to Henry and Flossie Longmire. She married Bill J. Fouts on June 7, 1950 in Bloomington. He passed away July 8, 1981. She then married Jim Hill on November 27, 2016 in Texas. He passed away October 4, 2020.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews and two special sisters-in-law Joan Longmire of Gibson City and Pat Longmire of Chandler, Arizona. She was preceded in death by six siblings Delmar Longmire, Thelma Page, Conrad Longmire, Calvin Longmire, James Longmire and Wayne Longmire.
Jean attended country school through the eighth grade. She graduated from Sibley High School in 1948. She retired from State Farm Insurance after thirty-eight dedicated years. She made many life-long friends. Jean played the piano with love and compassion, often playing for family and friends. They were fortunate to hear the beautiful music she played and wrote. She loved boating, painting with water colors and flower gardening.
