Melvin G. Moore, 85, of Sibley, peacefully passed away on Friday January 24, 2020 at his home in Sibley. A Celebration of Life Gathering for Mel will be held 3:00-5:00 pm Saturday February 8, 2020 at The New Beginnings Christian Church in Gibson City. Mel was born September 14, 1934 in Wayne County IL a son of Herman and Clarice Donoho Moore Dickey. He married Elizabeth Jane Pientka on June 18, 1976 in Joliet. She survives in Sibley. Also, surviving are his children Brenda (Gerald) Mills of Pontiac, IL; Glenn (Kristy) Moore of Niceville, Florida; Danny (Chris) Moore of Newark, Delaware; Vicki (Bob) Gwin of Glenn Mills, Pennsylvania and Milissa (Kevin) Conway of Lansing, Iowa. Eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and niece and nephew - Misty Ewing and Thomas Dickey. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Larry. Mel served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Sibley Lions Club. He was a volunteer as an EMT / Sibley Fire Department and Ford County Sheriffs Auxiliary. He was a very active member of The New Beginnings Christian Church and proud board member of the Gibson City Food Pantry. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gibson City Food Pantry, Gibson City Ambulance, or The New Beginnings Christian Church.
