Lloyd L. "Flip" Harrington

<p>ONEIDA- Lloyd L. “Flip” Harrington, 75, Lake Road, died unexpectedly Thursday evening, February 8, 2024, at his residence.</p><p>Born in Oneida, on June 24, 1948, he was the son of Thomas and Margaret (Lyga) Harrington. A lifelong resident of Oneida, Flip was a 1966 graduate of Oneida High School.</p><p>Raised on a farm since early childhood, Flip spent most of his life as a self-employed farmer and owner of Harrington Farms. In 2000 he started working with Ferris Industries (Briggs &amp; Stratton) in Sherrill. Flip retired recently after twenty two years of service. While employed with Ferris, he became a “hobby farmer” in his spare time. He enjoyed planting and selling sweet corn in the summer, and pumpkins in the fall.</p><p>Flip enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Flip also loved machinery especially tractors, both his farm tractors and his toy collection. He was a twenty-five year member of the Durhamville Fire Department and held many ranks, including Asst Chief. He also belonged to various farming organizations.</p><p>Surviving are his longtime companion, Ellen Beebe of Oneida; his two daughters, Jill LeWorthy of Oneida and Jennifer (Grant) Reineke of Walton, Kentucky; his son, Daniel E. (Kim) Harrington of St. Louis, Missouri; his step-daughter, Julianne (Chris) Scanlan of Schoharie; his step-son Gregg (Judy) Beebe of Houston, Texas; his ten grandchildren,</p><p>Courtney, Breanna, Izaiah, Kate, Grace, Miles, Jack, Griffin, Evan and</p><p>Eli; his three sisters, Judith (Ronald) Kimball, Sara Harrington, Christine (Byran) Diamond, all of Oneida; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Michael LeWorthy in February of 2023.</p><p>Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Saturday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida with his cousin Shaun Harrington officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home, 11 AM-1 PM, Saturday, prior to the funeral service. Contributions, in his memory, may be made to the Durhamville Fire Department, 5305 Church Street, Durhamville, NY 13054, or to a Future Farmers of America (FFA) local chapter of one’s choosing.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p>
