Maria M. Irvan, 52, of Lyndhurst, VA entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 surrounded by family at Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville, VA.


She was born on April 3, 1971 in Waynesboro, VA to the late Carolyn H. Irvan.


Maria is survived by two aunts, Jennifer Kiser, with whom she made her home; Kathy Freed and her husband Richard of Waynesboro, VA; one uncle Jeffrey Hewitt and wife Sherri of Ahoski, NC; her dear cousins Kelsey Kiser and Carl Choate, Daniel and Megan Kiser, Justin and Michelle Freed, Kyle Freed, Carmen Hewitt and Kyle Camann. Maria also leaves behind her neighbor, Kim Coffey, who she considered her very best friend.


Maria was preceded in death by her mother and her beloved grandparents Ralph and Virgie Hewitt.


She was a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School and was a lifelong member of Mt. Top Christian Church.


Maria found joy in simple pleasures and had love for people, balloons, cars, cotton candy, tigers, airplanes, magazines, food, especially spicy food and the color purple. Her favorite movies included The Shining and Home Alone. She also loved watching Little House on the Prairie and ER which always brought a smile to her face.


A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a future date to honor Maria’s memory. The family requests those attending wear purple, her favorite color.
