PORTSMOUTH – Templeton “Sonny” Tilley, 74, of Wayland Dr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in his home. He was born on August 12, 1943 in Mt. Hope, West Virginia to the late Eddie and Ruth Tilley. Sonny was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Portsmouth; and retired from the Ford Motor Company, Norfolk Assembly Plant after 43 years of service. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; and also a member of the Dunn Hunt Club in Sussex Co. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara Tilley; two daughters, Tiffany Shaw and husband Alan and Trisha L. Richardson and husband Christian; two sons, Troy N. Tilley and wife Robin and Todd Tilley; three sisters, Peggy Walters, Rose Fly and Shirley Cummings; a brother, Paul Tilley; eight grandchildren, Brittany Hanson and husband Ryan, Trever Tilley, Allison, Grant, Wyatt and Meredith Shaw, Grace Singh-Tilley and Connor Richardson; and a host of extended family and friends. The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice for all their care and support. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, April 28, 2018 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1115 Cherokee Rd., Portsmouth, 23701. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery.
