Melanie Rose DuBois Obituary

Melanie Rose DuBois, 50 years young of Victoria, peacefully gained her angel wings on Wednesday, February 7th, 2024, as she was called to Heaven to start the job that only she could do for our Lord Jesus Christ. She was born September 15, 1973, in Victoria, Texas to Robert Lesikar and the late Rosemary Blank. She met her soulmate, Terry, when she was 17 years old and has been the “Keeper of the Stars” since. They married on February 27, 1994, in Giddings, Texas and had two handsome sons who were the light of her life. Melanie leaves behind many cherished memories, the love of her life, Terry DuBois and her sons, Terry “Tad” DuBois Jr. (Amber) and Taylor DuBois all of Victoria, who she absolutely adored. She also leaves behind three grandchildren who she loved with all her heart, Rylee, Charles and Tyson; her brother Evan (Brandi) Lesikar of Victoria; half-sister Kasey (Lelos) Rosales of Giddings, Texas; step-sister, Jodee (Troy) Hendrick; Step-brother, Jeff (Gentry) Albrecht; her father and stepmother Robert and Dicki Lesikar; numerous nieces and nephews, who she treated as if they were her own, and a very large circle of family and friends who loved her dearly. Melanie is preceded in death by her mother, Rosemary Blank; maternal grandparents, August and Rosalie Blank; paternal grandparents, George and Agnes Lesikar and her mother-in-law, Mollie DuBois. Family, friends and others whose lives Melanie touched are invited to Grace Funeral Home in Victoria, Texas. A Private Family Visitation will be at 11:00am, Public Visitation will be at 12:00pm, with the service beginning at 1:00pm. A celebration of life will follow at 3:00pm at DaCosta Hall.

The family would like to send our sincere gratitude to the staff at Dornburg Center of Compassion-Hospice of South Texas for all their love and compassion during Melanie’s final days. Melanie worked as a Resident Assistant for Vitality Court where she enjoyed her niche for taking care of people, but her most cherished job was being a wife and a mother to not just her boys, but to any child who was in her presence. She loved her 3 T’s and grandchildren more than anything in this world and made sure everyone she met knew how extremely proud she was of them. She took her role as a “peace officer” in the home serious and always did it with love. Her job as MiMi was also taken very seriously as she made sure to spoil her grandbabies to the fullest capacity. Melanie was a great listener who always had good advice and was usually right. She was the secret keeper for many and a straight shooter; she never sugar coated anything. She enjoyed a simple life, especially when it involved family. She loved chit chatting for hours, while drinking multiple pots of coffee, and weekly lunch dates. She never passed up the opportunity for a drive, which usually ended up in a shopping trip. Comfy pjs and purses were her passion, and the three suitcases of purses is solid proof of that. She was a bargain shopper and enjoyed going to garage sales. Melanie loved spending time with her family and always made sure that family time was well spent. She had a bond with her brother, Evan, that everyone dreams of having with their siblings. Melanie was loving, funny, forgiving, compassionate, and that showed in her marriage and through her boys. One thing everyone knew was Melanie would make sure you were taken care of. She was selfless and always put everyone else before herself. Her presence here on Earth will be missed but we know she is dancing on the tables in Heaven. LYLTNSTS!
