Shelby Jean Eubanks Obituary

DURHAM – Shelby Jean Eubanks, 86, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Hock Family Pavilion. She was born in Granville County to the late Stanley Leland Daniel and Lila Mae Hunt Daniel.


Mrs. Eubanks graduated from Berea High school and achieved Valedictorian. From there she went into nursing school at Watts School of Nursing and graduated in 1958. After completing her nursing education, she received a position as a registered nurse at Murdoch Center in Butner, NC and worked her way up to Assistant Director. Following years of hard work and dedication, she was promoted to Director of Nursing. Shelby loved the Lord and was very involved with her church, inspiring this same love within her family. Growing up on a farm, Shelby developed a life-long love of animals. Shelby enjoyed singing, cooking, reading, traveling, gardening, bird watching, and word games.


Mrs. Eubanks is survived by her husband, Charles Norman Eubanks; daughters, Carla Wilkins and husband Ronnie, Kimberly Eubanks Miller and husband Michael; son, Mark Daniel Eubanks and wife Lorie; sisters, Betty D. Brooks, and Linda D. Maggiolo and husband Lewis; brother, Stanley L. Daniel, Jr.; grandchildren, Brandon Wilkins, Travis Wilkins, Jennifer Miller, Eric Wilkins, Jonathon Miller, and Brooke Eubanks; great grandchild, Hallie Kate Wilkins.


A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 15th at Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham with Dr. Marc Francis and Rev. Philip Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
