Travis Tefft, age 87 of Marion, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Marion General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Travis was born on August 2, 1936 to the late Eugene and Margaret (Wensel) Tefft in his home in Wayne, Ohio. On July 13, 1954, he married Mary B. Kagy in Maysville, Kentucky. They had four children: Donald, Dottie, Richard and Scott.

Throughout his life, Travis was the owner and operator of Buckeye Auto Sales and went on to be the general manager for Manheim Auto Auctions. He loved his old cars but liked to work on crosswords and card games on his computer.

He will truly be missed by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Margaret Tefft; his daughter, Dorothy (Dottie) Gamble, (December 22, 2009); his granddaughter, Lily Monette Tefft, (June 17, 2017); his brother, Bernard Tefft and his two sisters, Marjorie Gillman and Phyllis Pekar.

Those who will cherish his memories include his wife of 69 years, Mary B. Tefft of Marion, Ohio; his children: Donald (Linda) Tefft of Marion, Ohio, Richard (Dawn) Tefft of Maryland, New York and Scott (Rachel) Tefft of Marion, Ohio; his grandchildren Deena Wiland, Tara (Joshua) Blauser Sr., Dustin Rollison, Leslie Hensley (Patrick Black), Christina Evans (Steve Runkle), Donald Tefft Jr. (Lori Waters), Megan (Shane) Azueta, Dani (Rey) Tefft-Nunez, Mimi Tefft (Aidan Grennen), Kyle Tefft, Alli Tefft and Kelsie Tefft; his great grandchildren Brianna Coppola, Kaitlynn Evans, Karson Evans, Robert (Mary Catherine) Hensley Jr., Austin (Bethany) Hensley, Boe (Xavier) Wills, Joshua (Bryanna) Blauser Jr., Christian Blauser, Cora Blauser (Day’vid Felder), Mary Jo Harrison, Travis Harrison and Leo Azueta; his great-great grandchildren Sabreena Hensley, Kaiyden Hensley, Riverlynn Hensley, Aria Hensley, Freyja Hensley, Zachariah, Zayden, AmirDay’Quan Felder; several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may come to honor Travis’s life from 11am to 1pm on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Boyd Funeral Home, 122 W. Columbia St. A funeral service will follow starting at 1pm at the funeral home with Minister Steve Pruett officiating.  The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Tefft family.
