Wanda L. Rogers Obituary

Wanda Loretta Rogers of Rockhill Furnace, PA, gained her angel wings on February 10, 2024 in the comfort of her loved ones. 

Born November 30, 1935 in Rockhill Furnace, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Rogers and Cora Belle (Appleby) Rogers. 

Wanda never had any children of her own, but raised her nieces, Patricia (Rogers) Freeman of Rockhill Furnace and Amity (Rogers) Colyer, wife of Ned Colyer, of Chambersburg, PA, as her own. She was a grandmother figure to her great nieces, Wendy (Freeman) Anderson of Rockhill Furnace and Alison (Townsley) Runk, wife of Timothy Runk of Chambersburg.

She is also survived by a sister, Ruth Ann Wilson, nieces, Carol Allen and husband Wally, Sandy Creswell and husband Roy, Connie Hancock and husband Tim, Iva Hinton and husband Joe, Susie Wilson, nephew Bill Wilson and a number of great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Rogers, sisters, June Rogers Rhodes and Dora Mae Rogers Ramsey, an infant sister, Audrey Rogers, niece Sharon Wilson, nephews Charles Rhodes and Mark Ramsey and great great niece Machela Hinton.

She was a 1953 graduate of Orbisonia High School and had been employed by Dallco Industries at Mount Union and Rockhill Furnace. 

She was a long time auxiliary member of Madden-Wennick Post 518, American Legion, Rockhill Furnace.

Wanda was a very high spirited, fun lady, who loved to bowl, swim, dance, read and ride her bike. She was very well loved and will be missed by many. 

Private graveside services will be held at Neelyton Pine Grove Cemetery, Neelyton, PA. There will be no public viewing or visitation.
