Keiko Boody Obituary

Keiko Marie Boody was a 17 year old Shiba Inu who went to doggy heaven on February 2, 2024. She leaves behind her Parents and her little sister, Mika. She was born near Granite Falls, MN and received her wings in New Market, MN.

Throughout her life she loved to play in the snow, go for walks and car rides, chase animals, eat rawhide, give her mommy tons of kisses, hog the bed at night, curl up with mommy or daddy on the couch, lay in the sun, and was always trying to steal her sisters food. Keiko was an excellent Shiba singer, especially during car rides or when treats were around.

In 2006 I surprised my girlfriend for her birthday when I came home with this stunning little black, white, and brown Shiba Inu. Immediately she and mommy had a special bond. As a puppy, “Princess” Keiko Marie thrived in our first floor apartment. We had a walkout to a wooded area so it was perfect. She was a very playful, energetic, and loving puppy. When she was four, we bought a house with a big back yard that daddy always promised her. Eight months after moving in, we brought home her little Shiba sister, Mika. This is when we knew we really had a special dog. At no point did Keiko ever show anything but love to this new little pup coming into her house. Keiko was very playful with her and welcomed Mika into her life with open paws. As Mika grew, you could see how much Keiko loved having a sister. They were always playing and chasing each other and laying side by side. As the years flew by, Keiko continued to be the perfect Princess. Although not as playful in her later years, she still loved going out in her yard with her sister, singing in the car and still trying to steal her sisters food. After turning 15, we noticed Keiko was having some issues. She was eventually diagnosed with Canine Cognitive Disorder (CCD) or doggy Alzheimer’s. Our Princess slowly declined over the next few years but she still had the “foodie” in her eating all her meals up until her passing.

Keiko was an amazing dog and she blessed us with a very long life of 17 years 4 months. We could not have asked for a better girl. Our hearts are broken and many tears have been shed. But we know she’s a happy and healthy doggy running around again in heaven which helps with sadness. Saying good bye was the hardest thing that we’ve had to do. But we take solace in knowing she received her wings while in her home as mommy and daddy were holding her. She peacefully passed away at 10:51 AM.

One day we’ll all meet again and be happy. We love you and miss you so much Princess Keiko Marie. You left many paw prints on our hearts. You’ll be forever loved and remembered.

Love,

Mommy, Daddy, and Mika
