Elizabeth “Lisa” Prendergast, 61

Last week, we lost our beloved Lisa. Elizabeth Jane Prendergast (Lisa) was born to Thomas and Mary Alice De Penaido Prendergast on August 31, 1962. She grew up in El Paso and graduated from Coronado High School. Later, she went on to attend Texas Tech, UT Austin, and UTEP.

Lisa had a smile that could light up a room. Her greatest gift was knowing how to make the little things feel special. She could turn anything from a snow day to a dentist appointment into an epic party full of joy and love.

Lisa liked to dance in the kitchen and sing in the car. She thought a hot shower and Coca Cola could cure most illnesses, and that pets all deserved human names. She believed in dressing to the nines for all occasions and adored all things pink.

She is survived by her caretaker “Coco” Maria del Socorro Alford, partner David DelCiampo, her daughter Shaw Mettler, her sister Laura Gordon, her brother-in-law Patrick Gordon, her niece Aiden Gordeon, her nephew Patrick Jr Gordon; and numerous other loving family and friends.

Always a passionate animal lover, Lisa returned to El Paso in her later years to start BTK’s Horse Haven animal sanctuary. Her four-legged friends were like children, and they will all miss her dearly. She is survived by her animals Theodore (Ted), Catherine (Cat), Hannah, Mackenzie, Ginger, Applelonia (Apple), and Madonna (The Goat).

Those who loved her know that Lisa is unforgettable. We will always see her in the moon and stars.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Perches Funeral Homes - West. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday January 17, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church 400 W Sunset Rd. Internment will follow at Memorial Pines Cemetery.
