Robert Walton Pennington, 88, passed away on Wednesday at Willow Creek Nursing Home. Robert proudly served in the United States Army and was the recipient of the Bronze Star for his service to our country. He retired from civil service at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Robert was a member of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church. A service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Sharp and Rev. Barry Williamson officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at Seymour Funeral Home. A private interment for the family will be held in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Robert is survived by his sons, Bobby Pennington and wife JoAnn of Greenville and Greg Pennington and wife Joy of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Todd Pennington and wife Sara, Jared Pennington and wife Amy, Brandie Houser, Kevin Lundiquist, and Kasey Perry and husband Brad; and great-grandchildren, Ellison Pennington, Leah Houser, Adriana Perry, Adelynn Perry, and Annalise Pennington. He was preceded in death by his brother, George Pennington. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 752 Stoney Creek Church Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
