Douglas Lee Leardini

January 5, 1955 – December 11, 2023

Doug was called home to our Lord on Monday, December 11th, 2023 in Sacramento, California. Born to Leo and Ruth Leardini in Merced, California on January 5th, 1955; he was raised on Air Force bases across the country. He planted his roots in Sacramento, California where he found his life’s calling as a husband, father, and papa.

After meeting his wife Karen as a young teenager in high school, they soon began their long-lasting and loving marriage which spanned over 49 years, and raised their two children, Damon Leardini and Jennifer Wright with unconditional and unwavering love and support. Doug lived for his family and his true legacy will live on through them forever.

He served honorably in the United States Air Force, after which he worked as a car painter and auto mechanic for over 25 years. He was also a self-employed entrepreneur with his wife, Karen as they owned and operated Diamond Dog Grooming in the community for over 20 years. Doug coached youth sports in the community and volunteered in youth ministry throughout his life. He touched the lives of all who knew him.

He is survived in death by his loyal wife, Karen Leardini; two children, Damon Leardini (Nichole), and Jennifer Wright (Scott); his eight grandchildren, Makayla Jones, Dylan Leardini, Elijah Wright, Donovan Leardini (Morgan), Devon Leardini, Madelyn Wright, Austin Ashley, and Autumn Wright; his three great-grandchildren, Oaklee Leardini, Geno Wright, and Chanel Johnson; his sister, Brenda Fitzgerald (Wayne); his brother, Rollin Carroll (Judy); and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Ruth Leardini; two brothers, Allen Carroll and Timothy Leardini; and a sister, Melinda Crouch.

A memorial service will be held at the Freedom Church at 7736 Sunset Avenue, Fair Oaks, California, 95628 on Saturday, January 20th at 10:00am. Family and close friends are invited to a celebration of life following the memorial service.
