Camille Loraine Gardner Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Camille Loraine Gardner, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world on December 9, 2023, at the age of 85.

Camille Loraine Gardner (Gramz) was born March 5, 1938, in Houston, Tx. Growing up in downtown Houston, Camille loved to explore the city and shared so many fond memories with her family. A nurturing soul, Camille found immense joy in her role as a mother, raising 3 children, as well as those that found their way to her home. Her family was the center of her world, and she worked tirelessly to create a home filled with warmth and understanding.

Gramz was also an exceptional grandmother and great-grandmother. Her face would light up and her heart filled with joy at the sound of their laughter and presence. She imparted valuable life lessons through stories, shared her wisdom through the years, and created a legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come.

Camille had an unwavering faith in God and led many to find the Lord. She often shared scriptures with family and friends to help in times of need. One of Camille’s favorite devotions ends in “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7.

Camille is survived by her children Camille O’Brien (her husband, James), Kenny Barnett (his wife, Cheryl), and Barbie Follina (her husband, Frank), brother Tom Huskey, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her cousin Marjorie Ratliff, and numerous other family members and friends.

She joins her mother Dorothy Huskey, her father and stepmother Clifton & Iryl Huskey, and brothers Charles “Buzz”, Arthur “Art”, and Samford Huskey in eternal rest.

As we bid farewell to Camille, we celebrate the rich tapestry of her life and the profound impact she had on all who knew her. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched and the memories that will forever be etched in our hearts.

A memorial service will be held on December 17, 2023 from 4-7PM, at Carnes Funeral Home located at 1102 Indiana Street, South Houston, TX 77587.
