It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Mary Grace Wallenhorst Augustine. Mary was born in Buffalo, New York and moved to Margate, Florida in 1970. She was a stay-at-home mom, who pursued her dream of obtaining a college degree despite the challenge of balancing studies with raising three teenage girls. Upon graduation, Mary served as a registered nurse providing excellent medical care and comfort that made a difference to her patients. Mary leaves behind a legacy that radiates joy and warmth. She lived life to the fullest, embracing each moment. She brought laughter and fun to those around her, making every gathering a celebration of joy and love. Her devotion to her three beloved daughters was unmatched, and her adoration for her grandchildren and great grandchildren knew no bounds. Mary found her greatest joy in their happiness and accomplishments, cherishing every moment spent in their company. Mary is preceded in passing by her parents, Francis and Catherine Wallenhorst, and brothers, Francis Wallenhorst and Jim Wallenhorst. Mary is survived by her three daughters, Kelly Salazar (Kevin), Kari Metzger (Joe) and Lisa Hoffman (Mark); her grandchildren, Mark Schult (Melissa) and his children Magdalena, Mark Jr. and Mikka, Bjorn Schult (Erica) and his children Bastian, Callum and Dashiell, Adam Schult and his children Heiko and Aiden, Petra Burt (Erica), Joseph Metzger, Julia Metzger and Victoria Metzger, Kyle Turner (Melissa) and his son Silas, Devin Shelton (Dylan) and her children Shia, Soleil and Owen and Ryan Turner. Marys Memorial will be held on December 4, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Vincents Catholic Church located at 6350 NW 18th Street, Margate, Florida 33063. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting Memorial donations be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer foundation. Donations can be made HERE.
