Funeral services for Jack Austin, 80-year-old Kaycee resident who passed away suddenly Friday at his home in Kaycee, will be held Monday, December 11th at 10:00 a.m. at the Harold Jarrard Park Building in Kaycee with Mark Largent officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Donations in Jack’s memory may be made to the Hoofprints of the Past Museum at 344 Nolan Avenue in Kaycee, Wyoming 82639. Jack Harry Austin was born on February 28, 1943, in Sheridan, Wyoming to John and Marie Austin. As an infant he moved with his family to Kaycee where he grew up and went to school graduating from Kaycee High School with the class of 1962. After high school he worked on ranches shearing sheep and was a truck driver and worked construction. He was married on April 25, 1964, in Riverton, Wyoming to Virginia “Kay” Spratt and they made their home in Kaycee where Jack drove truck for several companies. Kay passed away in 2006 and Jack continued living in Kaycee until his death.

He was a member of the Moose and the Eagles Clubs. Jack was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.

He is survived by five daughters, Melinda Austin, Shelia Schirmer and her husband Jack and Michelle Austin all of Kaycee, Connie Dallman and her husband Robin of Cody, Wyoming and Jacqueline Loyning and her husband J.D. of Billings, Montana; four sisters, Lita Snell, Diane Doane and Cathy Walker all of Casper, Wyoming; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his sister Cherry Tipton and his nephew Robbie Bertch.
