Gary Wayne Miller Obituary

Gary Wayne Miller – Age 85, Bible Hill. It is with great sadness that the family of Gary Wayne Miller announce his passing in Vimy Court, Bible Hill on December 1, 2023. His wife, Ellen Wickwire passed away March 30, 2020, and her family continued to be a big part of Gary's life. Gary was born July 11, 1938, the son of the late Wallace (Bunn) and Velma Miller of Northfield, Hants Co, N.S.

He graduated from HNRH and began a life-long career at NS Liquor Commission becoming an inspector and later an auditor. After retiring, he and Ellen moved from Bedford to the Truro area.

Gary was an avid sportsman who enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing baseball. He was an exceptional bowler and a member of the 1964 Bedford team which won the NS Provincial Candlepin Bowling Championships. Gary loved harness racing and as an owner and fan, he traveled to tracks throughout the Maritimes.

Gary was predeceased by his sister, Wanda and her husband, Laine Kenney; his sister, Connie Patricia Crowe; his brother-in-law, Barry Alcock and nephews, Greg Miller and David Miller.

He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by brothers and sisters, Wendell (Eddie), Brenda Alcock, Velda Kelly (Vernon), Kim (Verna), Lelia Sanford (Dale), Micki MacDonald (Gary), Melvin (Verta), Brian (Sheena), and Gregory (Rae) and brother-in-law, John Crowe. Gary was a favourite uncle of many nieces and nephews.

The family is grateful for the care given to Gary by his home care workers and later by those at Vimy Court.

Arrangements are entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, NS. A Graveside service will take place on Wednesday, June 12th at 1pm in Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke East, NS. Get-together following service.
