Richard Bruce Payne Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the death of my brother Richard Bruce Payne, 66. He was born in Versailles, Kentucky, June 4, 1957, and passed away from cancer at the VA Hospital in Sheridan, Wyoming November 24, 2023. He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Martha, (1984) and father Richard (2007). He is survived by his sister Kiel B. Morris, Goleta, California, his nephews Jared T. Morris (Berkley), Aurora, Colorado, David B. Haber, Goleta, California, nieces Alexandra Morris-Çiçek, (Gökhan), Berlin, Germany, Madison T. Morris, Longmont, Colorado, great nephew Taran Morris and great niece, Arya Morris-Çiçek. Rick graduated from Brandon High School in 1976, Brandon, Florida. He attended Holy Innocents Episcopal Church where he sang in the choir and was a Master Acolyte. He was a member of the SPEBSQSA, Inc and sang in several quartets and championship choruses. He served in the Air Force and spent many years at Clarke AFB in the Philippines. While he had many different jobs in his lifetime, he was an amazing artist and avid golfer. He won many tournaments while in the military and his love of the game led him to be an excellent golf instructor. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was kind and loving. He will be missed dearly by his family, loving cousins and friends. A service and burial next to his mother in Madisonville, Kentucky will take place in the spring.
