Sandra L. Hatton Obituary
Sandra L. Hatton, age 81, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Knox Community Hospital. She was born on September 12, 1942, in Utica, Ohio, the daughter of Eugene and Ruth (Williams) Dunlap. Sandra was a 1960 graduate of Utica High School and retired in 2007 after 30 years of employment as a truancy office with the Mount Vernon City Schools.
She was a former member of Women of the Moose and enjoyed reading and watching television.
Sandra is survived by her husband Larry Hatton, whom she married on April 2, 1960, two children, Candice (David) Gallagher of Fredericktown and Christopher (Patti) Hatton of Houston, Texas, four grandchildren, Mark (Beth) Gallagher, Jonathan (Samantha) Gallagher, Joseph (Karen) Hatton and Sarah (Jared) Smith, four great grandchildren, Ellie Jo Hatton, Barrett Hatton, June Hatton, Abner Smith, and a sister, Karen (Richard) Warner of Utica.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Dunlap.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050. Rev. Ben McKinstry will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery.
