GENEVIEVE BETTY FUNK-WAGONER Obituary

Funeral services for Genevieve Betty Funk Wagoner, 89, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at the Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel in Douglas, Wyoming.  Interment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery.

Genevieve Funk Wagoner died Monday, November 27, 2023 at the Mountain Lodge Assisted Living in Douglas.

Funeral services for Genevieve Betty Funk Wagoner, 89, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at the Gorman Funeral Homes – Converse Chapel in Douglas, Wyoming.  Interment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery.

Genevieve Funk Wagoner died Monday, November 27, 2023 at the Mountain Lodge Assisted Living in Douglas.

Genevieve was born Wednesday, January 3, 1934 in Douglas, Wyoming the daughter of Roderick David and Catherine Ina (Gentry) Thomson.  She was raised in Douglas and wed Darvel Wilbur Funk also of Douglas, in 1953, until his death in 1984.  In 1998 Genevieve married Donald Brycely Wagoner of Douglas.

Genevieve worked for the Converse County Bank for many years, and retired in the late 1970’s.

She loved the outdoors and spent as much time as she could looking for Indian arrowheads and artifacts.  She enjoyed woodworking with a lathe, refinishing furniture, loved art, and painted in oils.

She is survived by her husband, Don Wagoner, of Douglas; son, Dan (Brigitte) Funk of Sheridan, Wyoming; her brother, Dave Thomson, of Douglas; and her step children, Frank Wagoner of Denver, Colorado, Marleen (Rich) Roberts of Torrington, Wyoming, and Kathy Wagoner of Denver.

She was preceded in death by her father, Rod, on May 2, 1973; mother, Catherine, on November 1, 1984; first husband, Darvel, on April 25, 1984; daughter, Darla Jean Funk, on June 15, 2014; and sister, Maybel Hitshew on September 20, 2008.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Converse County Cancer Fund in care of Converse County Bank, P.O. Box 689, Douglas, Wyoming 82633 or Central Wyoming Hospice Home, 319 South Wilson Street, Casper, Wyoming 82601 would be appreciated by the family.
