Obituary
Amanda Louise “Lou” Butler Sparrow, age 75, passed away Saturday evening, November 18th, 2023, at Greendale Nursing and Rehabilitation after having suffered a stroke in the preceding months. Born May 1, 1948, she was the daughter of Jesse Haywood Butler and Alma Louise Sugg Butler.

She was fixture at Bojangles of Snow Hill and was faithful part of the “Bojangles Club”. Neat and meticulous, Lou took pride in always looking her best and, also in maintaining her home and yard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Clayton “Billy” Sparrow, and brothers, Arthur Butler and Carroll Butler.
Lou is survived by a son, Craig Sparrow Swansboro; grandson, Ian Sparrow and wife, Holli and their son, Dawson Parks, all of Roanoke Rapids; grandson, Samuel Urbanski; a devoted sister, Linda Butler Toler and husband, Lewis of Hookerton; a special niece, Amy Toler Tyson of Snow Hill; former daughter-in-law, Shana Sparrow; and other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
It was Lou’s wish that no formal services be held. The family will privately inter her ashes at the Snow Hill Cemetery.
