Skipper, was born on October 15, 1944, in Florence County, South Carolina. He departed his earthly life on November 18, 2023.</p><p><br></p><p>He graduated from Carver High School where he was a part of a singing group throughout his high school years. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Airforce where he served in the Vietnam War. While in the military, he was a part of a singing group which toured and sang at different military stations. After serving his time in the military, he worked in security, which included his time at the Smithsonian Institution Air &amp; Space Museum in Washington, D.C. In 1988, he moved back to Lake City, South Carolina, and married Alberta McDonald. In Lake City, he worked along with his wife at Skipper’s Learning Center, Inc. as “the cook” serving homestyle meals. In addition, he worked as a security guard at W. Lee Flowers for twenty-four years. After retiring from W. Lee Flowers, he worked full-time at Skipper’s Learning Center, Inc.</p><p><br></p><p>Harry enjoyed singing, especially at family gatherings. He also enjoyed cooking, particularly his sweet potato pies for the holidays. Because of his beautiful voice, he sang at many church events, weddings, and funerals. He attended Mount Beulah United Methodist Church in Lake City where his wife, Alberta Skipper, is an active member.</p><p><br></p>
