A Celebration of Life for Mr. Kelly Fitzgerald Mostella,59, of Decatur, Alabama will be noon Tuesday in Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel. Inhumation will follow in Decatur City Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00AM until Noon at Reynolds Funeral Home. Public viewing will be Monday from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at Reynolds Funeral Home. 

Kelly Fitzgerald “Mo” Mostella was born May 10, 1964, in Gadsden, AL. Kelly passed away November 20, 2023, at the age of 59 at Decatur Morgan Hospital in Decatur, Alabama. He graduated from Emma Samson High School. Directly after high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force on September 10, 1982. During his time in the Air Force, he served as a security specialist up until December 1985. During Kelly’s service he also studied Aeronautics at the Sierra Academy of Aeronautics and majored in Airframe Mechanics and Aircraft Maintenance Technology. He later graduated from Gadsden State Community College matriculating with an associate degree in Robotics.

Kelly worked for United Launch Alliance (ULA) from 1995 to 2023. He was Union member with the United Steel Workers (USW). He retired as a quality control inspector from ULA in January 2023. Kelly had many hobbies and loved automobiles and motorcycles. He was one of the first members of the Elite Rankz Motorcycle Club for 13 years; and could often be found riding his bike on the Dragon’s Tail in North Carolina or frequenting bike week in Charleston South Carolina, among many other journeys. While in Elite Rankz, "Moz" did community work with fellow members, and he really enjoyed riding bikes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Essie and Billy Mostella; sisters, Debbie Byars, Victorial Tripp; sister-in-law, Sherella Mostella; uncle, Craig Hester and aunt, Nettie Jo Hester.

Kelly is survived by: his wife,  Pratuangtip Bady Mostella; daughters, Diana and Kyia Mostella; sister Greta Mostella (Muhammad Hasssan), brothers, Billy Charles Mostella Jr., Todd Mostella and Reginald (Alythia) Powell; and stepdaughters Sophelia Bady Rogers, Pracilla Bady and Rosalyn Bady; mother- in-law, Tawil Frye; uncle, William Hester; aunt, Leslie Kay Hester and two additional aunts in Detroit, MI; special nieces and nephews, Dione Robinson, Toddasha, John and Shebrieka Heard, Eunique Mostella and Taniyah Mostella, Marquevius Heard, Nassir Mostella and Tahir Mostella; and a host of grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, cousin, other relatives and friends.
